The Wave of English Certificate programs are all designed with the same aim: to create and
develop quality teachers of the English language all over the world. In order to accomplish
this, Wave of English has developed a system of teacher training to suit the needs of the many
busy and hardworking professionals looking for certification.
Completely Online:
The Wave of English International Certificate Programs are offered completely online. There
are no residency requirements. Students from all countries are encouraged to enroll and
advance their careers at their own pace and in their own homes. Our certificate is open to all
educational backgrounds: no educational requirements to take the course!
Completely Modern and Updated:
The Wave International Certificate Programs are based on the latest and most commonly used
techniques of English Language Teaching. Our course is not interested in theory as much as
practical information that teachers can use in the classroom immediately. The Wave
Certificate offers a variety of lesson planning approaches and methods to round out teaching
skills at all levels: we don't limit you to one standard formula, but give you the options to
develop your own skills and create your own teaching style to suit you and the students that you
teach. In addition to having the best material, you also have the best opportunity to show your
skills: repeat the course as many times as you need to master the material. Your tutor will
work with you to ensure your success!
Sources and Standards:
All of our material comes from recognized sources in the TESOL industry. These materials
have been organized and arranged in such a way to be easy for a person who has no
information about TESOL but will be equally as useful for a person who has been teaching
without knowing the terms for what they do.
In addition, many of our assignments are directly adapted from standardized sources. This
includes material from the Teacher Knowledge Test, an international examination from
Cambridge University, a leader in all things TESOL. Students taking our course can pass
directly into taking the Teacher Knowledge Test if they choose, as many of our exercises and
activities come from it.
Similarly, many of the materials that we ask you to create for assignments are based on very
common standardized English exams that your students will probably have to take, including
the TOEFL, IELTS, FCE, or Michigan ECCE.
Course Format:
The Wave International Certificate in TESOL is delivered as a PDF or as a Microsoft Word
Document. After you register for the course, you will receive this via email.
At the end of each unit, there is an assignment, usually of three parts, which you must
complete to receive credit for the unit.
Your assignment can be completed in whatever software application that you prefer, though we
can best accommodate files from any program in the Microsoft Office Suite, or PDFs.
You will send your assignments via email to your course tutor at certificate@waveofenglish.
com along with your Course I.D. number (which you receive after registering).
Your tutor will return the assignment to you with corrections within three – five working days.
You can accept the assignment score as is, or you can make the corrections suggested by
your tutor in order to raise your assignment score.
Teaching Practice:
The Wave International Certificate in TESOL does not arrange teaching practice in its standard
course. However, if you are already working in a school, we can help you to document this
experience as part of your certificate course for a small fee ($25).
Another way to gain valuable teaching experience and get credit for it through our program is to
volunteer your time at an ESOL program in your community (or wherever you choose to) for a
charity or not-for-profit organization. If you can provide us with proof of the organization's
status and aims (such as a letter from the director) then we will help you to document your
teaching practice free of charge.
After Completing the Course:
At the end of the course, you will receive four things:
1. Your Certificate
2. A Letter of Recommendation from your tutor
3. A Qualitative Assessment of your Skills
4. An Official Transcript of your course grades

CURRENT PRICE: 100 USD
In addition to our popular tutor-led course, we are now offering a complete self
study version. In this version, you receive NO course tutor or assignment
support. At the end of the course, you receive NO recommendation letter,
qualitative assessment, or transcript. Furthermore, the certificate would be
marked only PASS (Grade C) with NO possibility of Pass With Merit (Grade B) or
Pass With Distinction (Grade A). In order to complete the course, you would
work through the course materials on your own and submit all the assignments
as one document.
Your assignments must receive a grade of at least 70% for a certificate to be
issued. This does not include a free Endorsement Course.

Diploma Course. This course consists of the Standard Certificate Course and
ALL FIVE Endorsement Courses: Academic Purposes, Business English, Young
Learners, Conversation, and Asian Learners. The grading and materials used
are all the same, however, this option offers a significant savings because of the
commitment to taking a greater number of courses.
